At the North Bund waterfront, a white "cruise ship" has appeared where Suzhou Creek meets the Huangpu River. It is not a real ship, but Shanghai's newest reading space: the Hoshu Superyacht, a world-literature-themed bookstore created by Hongkou District, North Bund Group and Dayin Bookmall. With books, exhibitions, coffee, music and views of the Bund, the space reflects a growing trend in Shanghai, where bookstores are becoming hybrid cultural landmarks rather than places for reading alone.
