The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 this year.

So far, over 50 countries have confirmed their participation, with international organizations such as the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization also confirming their attendance. The number of Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders signing up for the event has already surpassed last year.

SUN Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE bureau, said GE Healthcare will showcase the world's first treatment for pancreatic cancer based on molecular imaging, while Michelin will display new, more sustainable tires.

To support the CIIE, customs have lowered importation standards for countries or regions with no animal or plant epidemic outbreaks and adopted new technologies to improve clearance.

The CIIE has attracted much foreign investment. Last year, at a Shanghai promotion held alongside the expo, 18 projects were signed with a total investment of about 30 billion yuan.

This year coincides with the 10th anniversary of Shanghai FTZ.
