Li Ka-shing's granddaughter takes on corporate role

Li Ka-shing, Hong Kong’s wealthiest man, has been making the headlines again.

A week ago, Li popped up in Guangzhou, where his company, CK Asset Holdings is in talks with local property firms Logan and KWG, regarding a debt swap deal of HKD 10 billion (US$1.3 billion, 9.2 million yuan).

Now, news has emerged that the third generation of Li’s family is taking on a role in the company. According to Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Li’s granddaughter Michelle Li has been made business development manager.

The third generation consists of seven, of whom Michelle is the eldest. She graduated from King’s College London in 2017 and participated in a public event with her grandfather when she was 21, her first public appearance.

Perhaps not yet the successor of Li Ka-shing’s empire, Michelle has become an important force in the family business.
