360 Security Technology has begun public testing of its 360 Smart Brain Large Model. Individual users can apply for a closed beta on its website. 360 shares closed 5.49 percent higher on the day.
Since revealing it was developing technology similar to ChatGPT 4 months ago, 360 finally joined the ranks of large models after multiple rounds of preheating.
“I said ChatGPT was two years ahead of domestic large models, but now I want to take back that statement,” said ZHOU Hongyi, the founder of 360. He believes that domestic large models have caught up with GPT3.5 in many aspects, and the speed of catching up with GPT4 far exceeds expectations.
Zhou said 360 Smart Brain is a universal language large model, with a parameter scale of tens of billions and 10 core capabilities. 360’s full-stack products have been integrated with Smart Brain.
Zhou focused on the multimodal capabilities and applications of digital humans. Staff asked the Brain to create drawings, as well as images and video which it did.
Zhou pointed out that while ChatGPT has shown the development path, competition is mainly about fine-tuning. The next focus of competition lies in multimodal capabilities. Currently, GPT-4 has demonstrated partial capabilities in this area, and future GPT-5 will fully support multimodal functionalities.
Digital humans, as defined by 360, are products that combine multimodal capabilities with the general intelligent foundation of the Smart Brain.
Traditional 2D or 3D digital humans are mainly created through motion capture, intelligent synthesis and rendering, but they do not possess the ability to generate content. For example, digital anchorpersons can only read scripts given, while digital humans based on large models can imitate human thinking, converse and interact.
