Six months after setting out its e-commerce stall in the United States, bargain retailer Temu is planning to expand into Africa, Europe and Latin America. The UK site will open on March 25.
Temu, the overseas equivalent of Pingduoduo, debuted in the US at the beginning of September. After only six weeks, it was the most downloaded shopping app on Google Play.
Temu is sending out more packages daily than rival SHEIN, but the fast-fashion outlet is not just standing idly by. In December, SHEIN filed a lawsuit against Temu in Illinois for allegedly false statements by its Chinese e-commerce rival. Temu fiercely denies the accusations.
Temu remains by far the most downloaded shopping app in the Google and Apple stores.
