Hong Kong, Macau and mainland to fully reopen on Feb 6

From February 6, cross-border travel between the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau will fully resume without any Covid restrictions, Chinese authorities said on Friday.

According to the State Council Hong Kong and Macau affairs office, people crossing the border from Shenzhen to Hong Kong no longer have to make an appointment. The daily limit on numbers making the crossing will be scrapped as well.

Travelers entering the mainland from Hong Kong or Macau will no longer need a 48-hour negative PCR test result unless they have been to other countries in the past seven days, the office said.
