Weinian disposes of stake in Ziqi Culture

After reaching a settlement with arguably China’s top influencer LI Ziqi in late December, Hangzhou Weinian Brand Management Co has disposed of its 51-percent stake in Li’s company, Sichuan Ziqi Culture Group. Ziqi Culture holds more than 250 trademarks.

Li rose to fame around 2015 after posting videos of her rural life. Weinian was the multi-channel network that helped Li to publish and advertise the videos.

Li made videos showing her farming, cooking, and doing crafts in the southwestern province of Sichuan. With 17 million subscribers, her YouTube channel was the most popular Chinese-language account. Her account on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, is followed by 50 million.

Li stopped posting videos in July 2021 when her relationship with Weinian deteriorated.

Sources close to Li said the influencer has no plan to start posting videos anytime soon, but her company will continue working with Weinian in the future.
