The health authorities in China changed the Covid-19 prevention and control rules on Friday, cutting quarantine for inbound travelers to five days in a government facility and three days at home.
Circuit breaker measures for inbound flights will be canceled and only one negative pre-departure Covid test result is required.
Online searches for international flights were up 448 percent within an hour of the announcement. Travel agency Qunar expects orders for international flights in December to double.
The circuit breaker brought instability to the industry, and as the number of flights recovers, prices will eventually fall.
