Trip.com turns Q2 profit

Online travel agency Trip.com saw its revenue in Q2 down 32 percent year-on-year to 4 billion yuan (US$560 million) but managed to turn a profit of 43 million yuan, compared with the 659 million yuan loss last year.

The company said that is because the overseas businesses performed better than expected and the domestic market recovered quickly in June.

In Q2, overseas flight ticket orders were almost seven-fold compared with last year. For the first time, Trip.com became one of the ten most downloaded apps globally.
