Online travel agency Tuniu made 41.5 million yuan (US$6.2 million) in Q1, down 46.4 percent. Group tour revenue was 14.4 million yuan, down 68.3 percent. Gross profit came in at 15.8 million yuan, down 44.8 percent. Its operating loss was 41.7 million yuan, almost unchanged from the same period last year.
Since Tuniu’s listing on Nasdaq in 2014, it has been in a state of loss. On April 18 this year, Tuniu received its second delisting warning since the Covid outbreak. However, in 2021, the company’s net loss was only 36.2 million yuan, compared with 921.8 million yuan in the same period in 2020s.
