DouYu, the leading game-centric live-streaming platform in China, announced that its total revenue in Q1 decreased by 16.6 percent to 1.8 billion yuan (US$265 million). Livestreaming revenue was 1.7 billion yuan, down 13.6 percent. The non-GAAP net loss was 52.5 million yuan, compared with 70.7 million yuan in the same period of 2021.
In Q1, DouYu launched nearly 160 e-sports competitions, almost four times that of the same period last year. The quarterly average paying user count was 6.4 million, down from 7.0 million in 2021.
In August last year, DouYu announced a stock repurchase. As of March, DouYu had repurchased US$34 million (215 million yuan) of American depositary receipts.
