China's home-grown C919 jet to be delivered completes maiden test fly in Shanghai

China’s first C919 aircraft to be delivered to China Eastern Airlines finished a test flight Saturday, said Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC), the state-owned manufacturer of the jet.

The jet took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport and flew for over three hours, COMAC said.

By far, 28 airlines have ordered 815 C919 airliners. On May 10, Chinese Eastern Airlines said in a statement that the company was raising no more than 15 billion yuan (US$2.2 billion) to buy 28 new jets, four of which were C919, each worth US$99 million.
