World's first 600km/h high-speed maglev ready for test runs

A new high-speed maglev train rolled off the assembly line on July 20 in Qingdao, Shandong Province. With a top designated speed of kilometers per hour, it is the fastest ground vehicle in the world so far.

The self-developed maglev transportation system is the latest achievement of China’s rail transit technology. Led by CRRC Qingdao Sifang, more than 30 universities took part in the research and development.

Sifang said the maglev is ready for high-speed operation tests.
