On July 7, the same day that 25 Didi Chuxing apps were kicked out of app stores for data misuse, ride-hailing app Meituan Dache made a comeback. The app can be used in over 100 cities.

Meituan, an e-commerce platform with diverse interests, got into ride-hailing in February 2017. Cut-throat competition with Didi brought Meituan under heavy capital pressure. In September 2018, Meituan took its ride-hailing app out of the app stores, but the ride-hailing business remained as people could still book rides from the Meituan Dianping app.
