Tencent launches new data center in Guangdong

Tencent launched a new cloud data center in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province on July 3. It is phase-one of the Internet giant’s new five-year plan on hi-tech infrastructure construction that will cost 500 billion yuan (US$70.75 billion).

The data center so far has 300,000 servers, by the time the 500-billion-yuan project completes, the center will be home to over a million servers that have enough space for all content data of Tencent.
