China's power capacity reaches 4.08 billion kW by end-July

China's total installed power generation capacity reached 4.08 billion kilowatts by the end of July, up 11.0% from a year earlier, according to data released by the National Energy Administration on August 25.

Solar power capacity stood at 1.29 billion kW, up 16.1% year on year, while wind power capacity reached 690 million kW, up 19.5%. Together, solar and wind accounted for about 48.5% of the country's total installed capacity.

In the first seven months, China's average utilization of power generation equipment was 1,671 hours, down 135 hours from a year earlier.
