The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference has facilitated 16.2 billion yuan (US$2.3 billion) in prospective cooperation agreements and helped advance 57 key application scenarios ahead of its opening in Shanghai, city officials said on Tuesday.
The figures were disclosed at a Shanghai government press conference ahead of the four-day event, which will run from July 17 to 20 alongside a high-level meeting on global AI governance.
Organizers said this year's conference has established services covering the periods before, during and after the event. It will also feature a dedicated capital-matching area linked to more than 10 investment institutions and 200 professional investors.
