China proposes AI-labeling requirement for short-form dramas

China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) has proposed requiring short-form dramas created or produced using artificial intelligence technologies to carry disclosure labels in prominent positions in each episode, according to draft rules released for public consultation.

Under the proposal, production companies and distributors would be required to comply with existing regulations governing AI-generated content and ensure that viewers are clearly informed when AI technologies have been used in the creation of a drama.
