GSK's Nucala approved in China for hypereosinophilic syndrome

GSK said on June 23 that China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved Nucala (mepolizumab) for the treatment of hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older.

The approval covers patients with HES who have no identifiable non-hematologic secondary cause, the company said.

Hypereosinophilic syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by persistently elevated levels of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell that can cause organ damage if left untreated.
