Chinese robotics firm Unitree Robotics has disclosed its 2025 humanoid robot shipment figures for the first time, following widespread online speculation about its sales volumes.
In a statement late on January 22, Unitree said it delivered more than 5,500 humanoid robots in 2025, counting only units sold and shipped to end customers and excluding orders not yet delivered. Total humanoid robot production exceeded 6,500 units during the year. The figures cover only pure humanoid robots and exclude other products such as wheeled or dual-arm machines.
The figures exceed earlier market forecasts. Research firm Omdia had previously estimated Unitree's 2025 shipments at around 4,200 units, behind AgiBot. Unitree's actual shipments were roughly 30% higher than that estimate. Omdia had also projected shipments of about 1,000 units for UBTech Robotics.
Unitree said comparisons across the sector can be misleading, given the wide variation in robot forms and application scenarios.
While its humanoid robots have drawn increasing attention, quadruped robots remain Unitree's core business. Public disclosures show that in 2024 quadruped robots accounted for about two-thirds of revenue, with humanoid robots contributing roughly 30% and components the remainder. Most quadruped units were sold into research, education and consumer markets, with a smaller share deployed in industrial uses such as inspection and firefighting. Humanoid robots were sold entirely into non-industrial markets.
Founder WANG Xingxing has previously said Unitree's industrial robot orders surged in 2025, with contract value exceeding 1.2 billion yuan, driven largely by demand for its G1 quadruped robot.
Unitree brought the second phase of its Wuxi manufacturing base into operation in the second quarter of 2025, lifting annual quadruped robot capacity to 50,000 units.
The company has been expanding its commercial footprint. Its first national flagship store opened at JD Mall in Beijing at the end of last year, adding offline retail to its existing online flagship store on JD.com.
Wang has said Unitree's revenue exceeded 1 billion yuan in 2024, making it one of the few robotics firms in China to achieve sustained profitability. The company completed IPO tutoring in November 2025 and is preparing to seek an A-share listing.
