China's consumer extended reality (XR) market reached 261,000 units in the first half of 2025, up 9 per cent from the previous six months, driven mainly by new augmented reality (AR) glasses launches, according to CINNO Research.
While AR devices continued to grow, the virtual reality (VR) segment remained weak due to a lack of new content and product delays. CINNO forecasts full-year consumer XR sales of 606,000 units, up 6.5 per cent year on year.
