JD.com's food delivery fleet tops 120,000 full-time riders

JD.com's full-time food delivery fleet has surpassed 120,000 riders and is expected to exceed 150,000 by the end of the quarter, CEO XU Ran said on Tuesday at a media briefing in Harbin for the opening of the company’s first 7Fresh Supermarket Mall.

In top-tier cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, JD's full-time couriers now earn nearly 13,000 yuan a month on average, as the company's food delivery service—launched just over 100 days ago—handles more than 25 million daily orders, far exceeding expectations, Xu said.
