In 2024, Beijing recorded 18.27 million border crossings and over 110,000 flights, reflecting year-on-year increases of 90% and 76%. Foreign nationals accounted for 4.84 million crossings, a 125% rise from 2023.
By year-end, 920,000 foreign travelers entered Beijing visa-free, while 64,000 received 144-hour or 240-hour temporary entry permits, marking significant increases from the previous year. Beijing Capital International Airport handled 1.91 million inbound foreigners, including 710,000 visa-free entries, while Beijing Daxing International Airport processed 560,000, with 210,000 entering visa-free.
The growth highlights Beijing’s enhanced connectivity and improved visa policies, strengthening its position as a global travel hub.
