Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group announced on Wednesday that CEO Eddie Wu will take over the top role at the company’s Taobao and Tmall e-commerce business, replacing Trudy Dai who will assist in establishing an asset management company for Alibaba.

Wu will now be the CEO of Alibaba Group, the Taobao and Tmall e-commerce business, and the company's cloud computing arm Aliyun.
